Meet Our Team
Dr Geert Lampen BVSc
Veterinarian
Practice Owner
Geert qualified as a veterinarian in Pretoria, in South Africa. Completing study in 2001. He has vast experience as a life artist, from salesman to safari guide in Africa, long-term term student and soldier to veterinarian. Geert works at both the Midcoast Animal Hospital and our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. In between the rush of running the hospital, Geert loves all things outdoors. Camping and fishing are at the top of his list.​​

Dr Elena Dreyer BVSc
Veterinarian
Practice Owner
Administration Coordinator
Elena graduated in 2001 at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Elena is a part time veterinarian who holds the reins of the hospital's administration. Elena has devoted most of her spare time to raising her two children Nicolas and Lukas, has a passion for her veggie garden and her sheep. Geert and Elena have two rescue dogs, Scarlett a Cataholah and her son Zak a Cataholah cross Cattle dog.

Dr Drikus Jansen van Vuuren BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Drikus became a member of the Midcoast team in 2021. Drikus became a qualified veterinarian in 2014 at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Drikus is shared between the Midcoast Animal Hospital and our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. Between work, you will find Drikus fishing, cooking and exploring our beautiful area with his family.

Dr Cathy Pheiffer BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Cathy is one of our senior vets, with 15 years clinical experience. Cathy works primarily at Manning Veterinary Hospital and occasionally at the Midcoast Animal Hospital. Cathy has developed a deep understanding for animal behaviour and addresses fear free practice in all her patient interactions. This has led to a growing interest in animal behaviour consults. In turn, working closely with local trainers to resolve pet behavioural issues. Outside the workplace, you'll find Cathy running on a trail, river wake-boarding or carving up some fresh snow with her family and fur-kids, Indi and Patches.

Dr Coralea Larsen BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Coralea qualified in 2005 at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Coralea then spent the next few years working in different clinics around Africa. Coralea has a vast array of experience working with horses, cattle, lions, rhinos and cheetah's. Coralea joined the team in 2019 after immigrating to Australia a few years earlier. Coralea enjoys nurturing her native and productive gardens, and looking after her two beautiful children John and Claire. At work, Coralea tries to ensure that every animal has a positive experience at the clinic.

Mel Nunn
Veterinary Nurse
Practice Manager
Mel has been with the Midcoast Animal hospital since the very beginning. Mel has over twenty five years experience in the veterinary industry and a wide wealth of knowledge to show for it. Mel manages the daily running of the clinic and is in charge of accounts. Mel enjoys gardening, photography and playing golf with her family. Mel lives with her husband, they have three beautiful daughters and an array of animals.

Matilda Oldfield
Veterinary Nurse
Matilda started with us as a work placement student at our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. Matilda is a valued member of the team and Matilda finished her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016, via the Australian College of Veterinary Nursing. Matilda lives in the beautiful great lakes area with her family and loves exploring with her fur baby, Luna the Labradoodle.

Lauren Gayton
Veterinary Nurse
Lauren started her passionate vet nursing career in 2002. Lauren started working in Gloucester before moving on to work and reside in Wollonging for 15 years. Lauren moved back to the Mid North Coast area in 2019, joining the Manning Veterinary Hospital team shortly after. Lauren has since joined the Midcoast Animal Hospital team as well. Lauren spends her spare time with her son and husband, enjoying gardening and exploring the outdoors.

Georgia Carr
Veterinary Nurse
Georgia originally started as a work placement student at our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital in Taree. Georgia completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2017. Georgia coordinates Midcoast Animal Hospital's Animal Welfare League cat rehoming program. Georgia also runs the clinics social media marketing. Georgia passions outside of the clinic lie in keeping herself busy on the farm with her partner and many farm animals including her dogs, cats and chickens.​

Jessica Horsburgh
Veterinary Nurse
Jessica joined the Midcoast team in 2021. Jess has since completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022. Jess coordinates our social media marketing, online booking system and manages the Midcoast Animal Hospital's website. Jessica works at the Midcoast Animal Hospital and occasionally at our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. Jess spends her spare time caring for cats, dogs, chickens, horses and cattle. Jess loves practising photography and participating in local landcare.

Macey Cameron
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Macey joined the team at the Midcoast Animal Hospital in 2022. Macey is currenty studying to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Macey will become qualified in 2024. Macey spends her spare time playing basketball. Macey also enjoys spending time on her family farm, caring for her horses, dogs and chickens.​​

Kielee Duncombe
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Kielee started off as a work placement student at Midcoast Animal Hospital and has since joined the Midcoast team in 2023. Kielee is currently studying to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Kielee will complete her qualification in 2024. Kielee spends her spare time with her family and friends. Kielee also enjoys traveling and spending time on her family's property.

Lilli-Mae Geer
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Lilli-Mae joined our team at the end of 2023. Lilli-Mae has just completed Certificate III in Animal Studies and will soon start studying to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Lilli-Mae will complete her certificate IV in 2025. Lilli-Mae enjoys spending her spare time with her two French bulldogs and using her creative mind in her day to day activities.
