Meet Our Team

Dr Geert Lampen BVSc
Veterinarian
Practice Owner
Geert qualified as a veterinarian in Pretoria, in South Africa. Completing study in 2001. He has vast experience as a life artist, from salesman to safari guide in Africa, long-term term student and soldier to veterinarian. Geert works at both the Midcoast Animal Hospital and our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. In between the rush of running the hospital, Geert loves all things outdoors. Camping and fishing are at the top of his list.

Dr Elena Dreyer BVSc
Veterinarian
Practice Owner
Administration Coordinator
Elena graduated in 2001 at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Elena is a part time veterinarian who holds the reins of the hospital's administration. Elena has devoted most of her spare time to raising her two children Nicolas and Lukas, has a passion for her veggie garden and her sheep. Geert and Elena have two rescue dogs, Scarlett a Cataholah and her son Zak a Cataholah cross Cattle dog.

Dr Drikus Jansen van Vuuren BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Drikus became a member of the Midcoast team in 2021. Drikus became a qualified veterinarian in 2014 at the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Drikus is shared between the Midcoast Animal Hospital and our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital. Between work, you will find Drikus cooking and exploring our beautiful area with his family.

Dr Storm Van Tonder BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Storm graduated from the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Storm graduated in 2014. Storm joined the Midcoast Animal Hospital team in 2024. Storm works at both the Midcoast Animal Hospital and our sister clinic Manning Veterinary Hospital. Outside of work, Storm loves scuba diving and sight seeing with her family.

Dr Coralea Larsen BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Coralea qualified in 2005 at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Coralea then spent the next few years working in different clinics around Africa. Coralea has a vast array of experience working with horses, cattle, lions, rhinos and cheetah's. Coralea joined the team in 2019 after immigrating to Australia a few years earlier. Coralea enjoys nurturing her native and productive gardens, and looking after her two beautiful children John and Claire. At work, Coralea tries to ensure that every animal has a positive experience at the clinic.

Dr Cathy Pheiffer BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Cathy is one of our senior vets, with 15 years clinical experience. Cathy works primarily at Manning Veterinary Hospital and occasionally at the Midcoast Animal Hospital. Cathy has developed a deep understanding for animal behaviour and addresses fear free practice in all her patient interactions. This has led to a growing interest in animal behaviour consults. In turn, working closely with local trainers to resolve pet behavioural issues. Outside the workplace, you'll find Cathy running on a trail, river wake-boarding or carving up some fresh snow with her family and fur-kids, Indi and Patches.

Dr Antje Zahradnicky BVSc
Associate Veterinarian
Antje graduated from the University of Pretoria, in South Africa. Antje joined the Midcoast Animal Hospital team in 2025. Antje goes between our sister clinic Manning Veterinary Hospital and Midcoast Animal Hospital. In her spare time, Antje is passionate about discovering new destinations.

Mel Nunn
Veterinary Nurse
Practice Manager
Mel has been with the Midcoast Animal hospital since the very beginning. Mel has over twenty five years experience in the veterinary industry and a wide wealth of knowledge to show for it. Mel manages the daily running of the clinic. Mel enjoys gardening, photography and playing golf with her family. Mel lives with her husband, they have three beautiful daughters and an array of animals.

Matilda Oldfield
Veterinary Nurse
Matilda started with us as a work placement student at our sister clinic, the Manning Veterinary Hospital in 2014. Matilda is a valued member of the team and finished her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing via the Australian College of Veterinary Nursing.
Outside of work Matilda spends her time wrangling her two young kids, exploring the outdoors and crabbing with the family.

Bec Gallagher
Veterinary Nurse
Bec became part of the team in 2025. Bec qualified as a vet nurse at the end of 2024 and has previously worked in animal rescue. Bec is passionate about animal welfare and her favourite part of the day is meeting all the beautiful pets that come through the door. Bec enjoys getting outdoors and reading. In her spare time, Bec loves being with her family and her little cat Scooter.

Alyssa Hoffman
Veterinary Nurse
Alyssa joined the team at Midcoast Animal Hospital in 2024 and has since completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Alyssa enjoys riding her motorbike, and enjoying life with her dog and 6 rescue cats.

Bella Burgess
Veterinary Nurse
Bella became part of the team in 2025 and has recently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Outside of work, Bella enjoys making the most of the sunshine and spending her free time in the water.
When she's not out and about, you'll find her at home spending time with her beloved cat, Manni.

Macey Cameron
Veterinary Nurse
Macey joined the Midcoast Animal Hospital team in 2022 to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. After successfully completing her qualification, she continued working with the clinic until 2025, gaining valuable experience in small animal nursing.
In 2025, Macey took the opportunity to broaden her skills and spend a year working at a horse stud, where she completed her Certificate !!! in Horse Breeding. After her time away, Macey is excited to be back with the Midcoast Animal Hospital team and is enjoying returning to small animal nursing and reconnecting with the clinic and its clients.

Leah Meehan
Veterinary Nurse
Leah originally started as a work placement student with our sister clinic, The Manning Veterinary Hospital in Taree back in 2019 where she completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Since then she has worked locally in small animal practices, joining our team in 2025 after the birth of her daughter Elsie. When Leah's not at work, you'll find her chasing after her 1year old or snuggiling her 4 fur kids.
